Lazy Holiday Sunday

We started off the day with no plans, but Mom & Dad Bateman decided to go out to brunch at Geezers and so we got ready and met them there. It was a nice meal with Mom, Dad, Adam, Jennifer, Neil, Brandie and the 4 of us. Emily enjoyed seeing everyone and Danika was passed around and given lots of love.
We headed over to the house afterwards for a short visit & came home to relax. Daddy has tomorrow off of work and we are hoping Danika continues her sleeping through the night streak.. it is fabulous for ou whole household!

Proud

Just a little bit ago, Emily spilled my drink on the floor. She asked me for help cleaning it up & since I always tell Duke to get in his bed while cleaning things up, she told him to. When I walked back into the living room she said, "Mommy, Duke got in his bed!" She then walked over to Duke and pet him, saying, "Duke, good job! I am so proud of you for listening!"

Guess what Emily hears (not so) often when she listens!

We are headed over to try out a new restaurant called Cafe Rio this afternoon when David gets home. It just opened at 10:30 for the very first day & is supposed to be similar to Chipotle with more options, yum!

Flying

Today we ventured out to Carters and Target. While we were driving home we hit about 5 million red lights. When the final one turned green, I gunned it and said, "Super Fast!" which is from Little Einsteins. Emily got really quiet and asked if we could fly in the sky too. It was really sweet and we talked the rest of the way about flying in the sky & how she has been in an airplane before. She is very convinced that we can fit in Rocket and the Leo, June, Quincy and Annie would share with us AND we would fit.

Danika slept through the night again last night... 1015 to almost 7 am. We could get used to this!

Twinkle, Twinkle, E, I, E, I, O

Relaxing day at home today. Danika vetoed the napping yesterday so she ended up sleeping from just before 11 last night till 7 this morning!

We went next door to say goodnight to Aunties, our nightly routine. Emily decided she was going to sing Twinkle Little Star to their cat, Twinkles. Her lyrics went:

Today was a mellow day. Emily and Danika and I hung out at home all day long. After a day filled with sleep for Danika yesterday, she refused to take more than a couple cat naps today. While Emily watched Word World, I made up a silly song about Danika needing a bath. Emily stopped what she was doing, put her toys down, and started clapping and saying "Bravo!" it was hilarious!

Danika is really becoming so much more aware of her surroundings and loves her big sister to pieces, she just lights up when Emily talks to her. It really is sweet to watch!

Starting Anew...

I have decided to start this blogging thing up again! I was not great at keeping up Emily's baby blog and really would love to keep one up now that the girls are starting to interact. Somewhere to save all their happenings is important; there is no way I can remember it all!

Emily is asleep on the couch right now... she zonked out playing a game on the iPad.

Danika is awake after having slept away most of the day. She had her two month checkup today & got three shots. Poor baby!

Danika weighs 14 pounds 1 ounce and is 24 inches long. Emily was 14 pounds and 24 inches at 2 months. They are on the same path!
